Founded in 1891 the Society has more
than 11,000 members in 50 branches and 3,000 active lifesaving
and lifeguarding clubs and Approved Training Centres throughout
the UK and Ireland.
There are many ways you can become involved as a lifesaver.
This can range from learning new skills which you could
use to save a life, becoming a member and participating
in a wide range of exciting and rewarding activities, getting
a recognised
qualification or you can make
a donation to
help us provide lifesaving information and training for
young and old alike.
Lifesavers can bridge the gap between an incident being discovered
and the emergency services arriving. In effect they can make
a crucial difference. Emergencies don’t just happen to
other people or while at work – it could be your family
or your friends who may need your life saving skills – to
save their lives!
