Rookie Festivals provide a challenge and enjoyment for those taking part, while utilising young leaders and raising the profile of Lifesaving.
Rookie Festivals are organised lifesaving events, featuring competitions for young people aged between eight and 14-years-old. Teams of four or six can enter. Rookie Festivals can be held at a local pool and consist of a series of games or races that test the lifesaving skills of Rookies.
If you want to run a Rookie Festival they can be run either as part of your regular lifesaving session, or as a stand alone Festival with other invited teams or clubs.
Rookie Lifeguards from across the UK are able sign up for RLSS UK’s Rookie Festivals and little lifesavers will have the chance to demonstrate their skills at the event.
