We are delighted to introduce Adrian Mills, who has taken up the challenge of running the 26.2 mile course of the London Marathon on Sunday 24 April in order to raise funds for RLSS UK.

With the support of his local lifesaving club, the Lowestoft Volunteer Lifeguard Corps, Adrian hopes to raise in excess of £1,500 to put towards the continued delivery of drowning prevention and water safety education across the UK.

A seasoned runner, Adrian has previously taken part in a variety of events up to half marathon distance, but saw the London Marathon as an ideal opportunity to push himself even further, whilst raising money for RLSS UK in our 125thyear.

‘Training has been going really well as I’ve increased my runs leading up to Christmas – allowing me to over indulge over the holidays! Apart from a little hamstring niggle, I’ve now embarked on a 16 week marathon training programme and look forward to what lies ahead. Feeling slightly apprehensive, but in a positive way, about the day itself – my mantra is to get round don’t do anything silly chasing a time, after all whatever time I do will be a PB! Thanks for your support, best wishes, Adrian’.

We look forward to reporting on Adrian’s progress in the coming weeks. If you would like to show your support, you can make a donation to Adrian’s Virgin Money Giving page here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/AdrianjMills
