Castle Point Leisure has started rolling out the new PXB rescue board training for all of their pools NPLQ qualified staff.

Castle Point Leisure has 50 qualified staff all of which require PBX training for the two leisure centres which are operated and run by Castle Point Borough Council.

The roll out of training which has now started and will include various planned sessions for staff to attend. As well as an introduction presentation, the staff will also complete a practical training and assessment session and also be given any training handouts regarding the new board.

Castle Point Leisure currently have 3 RLSS Trainer Assessors qualified to deliver and assess the new PXB board, and the trainers will cascade this knowledge and training down to its staff.

Once all CPL staff and club staff have been deemed competent following the training then the new PXB will be placed ready for use on the poolside.

RLSS Trainer Assessor Dean Bolton says, “it has been a long time coming for a new rescue board to be introduced and we are very excited”

The feedback received by the Castle Point lifeguard team has been highly positive. All staff are very excited to undertake the new training and to experience an improved response method to promote a casualties recovery process
