Latest News GBR Open Team to compete at World Lifesaving Championships, Adelaide 2018 Great Britain Lifesaving is pleased to announce the Great Britain Open Team to compete at the 2018 Lifesaving World Championships in Adelaide, Australia, 20-25 November 2018. The team of six male and six female athletes is selected from the Great Britain Lifesaving Squad representing 6 national clubs from Surf Life Saving GB and Royal Life Saving Society UK. The Open Team includes experienced athletes who have represented Great Britain at Sanyo International Lifesaving Cup, International Surf Rescue Challenge and European Lifesaving Championships in the past 11 months with only one athlete gaining their first cap. The team was selected by Lead Coach Rob Phillips (SLSGB), Pool Coach Gary Lee (SLSGB & RLSS), and verified by Simon Perry (SLSA Wales) The Lifesaving World Championships is held every two years and attracts competitors from over 40 nations. The team of 12 athletes will race in 24 events across 5 days of intense competition racing the best in the world. We wish them the very best.
