Location: The role can be based anywhere in Scotland, Northumberland, Tyneside, Wearside, Cleveland or Durham. Home based with occasional travel to events, for which expenses will be paid.

A vital part of an exciting pilot to shape the future of volunteering at RLSS UK, the Marketing Lead volunteer will help us to build our community in line with our 2020-2025 strategic framework. This role will take a lead in supporting local clubs and groups with marketing, building engagement and following on a range of social media platforms, and establishing relationships with local media to raise the profile of RLSS UK activity.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

This role will support the Coordinating Group for Durham, Northumberland and Scotland with administrative tasks, during and between meetings. They will play a vital role in enabling the team to operate efficiently and increase local activity.

Key tasks include:

  • Attending Coordinating Group Meetings (usually monthly) and updating the Decisions & Actions Log accordingly
  • Keeping the SharePoint folders and documents organised and up to date
  • As part of a team, managing a shared email inbox
  • As part of a team, monitoring the Pilot Area Facebook Group

 

Time Commitment

This role is part of a Coordinating Group of volunteers, with direct staff support. The role is flexible so you can fit it into your week, but we do ask for a regular commitment for a six-month period. This will include interactions by phone/email with other volunteers, as well as attendance at events in your area and a monthly meeting with the group. Expenses will be paid in line with our Volunteer Expenses Policy.

  • Familiar with Gmail, SharePoint and Zoom
