Adult Aquaphobia Learning Programme and Certificate in Teaching Aquaphobic Adults were created by the UK Academy of Swimming and made ready for the wider leisure market and distributed by the RLSS UK.

PDR Solutions and academic Ulf Henrik Goehle from Philipps University in Marburg have also supported the development of the training programme.

UK Academy of Swimming (UK-AoS) is a training and sports innovations company whose expertise is in sports education, aquatics, learning development and technology.  It is owned by its Director Mike Burman who has over thirty years’ experience working in product innovation and elite level sports coaching. Mike has significant experience in teaching people to overcome their fear of water, he wrote and created the AALP & CTAA products. Formally a Trustee of Enfield Leisure Centres and head coach of UK-AoS.

RLSS UK is the drowning prevention charity.  Around 400 people drown in the UK every year and the RLSS UK aims to prevent drowning through water safety education. Through its trading subsidiary, IQL UK, more than 90,000 RLSS UK Pool Lifeguards in the UK are trained in the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). RLSS UK awards and programmes teach a range of lifesaving skills ranging from life support (CPR) to water survival and rescue skills. Programmes include Rookie Lifeguard (for eight to12-year–olds), Survive and Save (for 12 years+) and Save a Baby’s Life (a free course aimed at parents and carers of young children).

PDR Business Solutions is a consultancy company with over 25 years’ experience in the Sport & Physical Activity sector.  It specialises in providing business and educations solutions to the sector. It is owned by Spencer Moore who is currently the Director of Strategy for the Chartered Institute of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) and previously Head of Coach Development at the Amateur Swimming Association. Spencer has supported the UK Academy of Swimming in the development of these programmes

Ulf Henrik Goehle from the Philipps University in Marburg is a Motologist, graduate music teacher, and a lecturer in training science, anatomy and developmental psychology at the Hochshule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, and a doctoral student at the Philipps University in Marburg. In addition to his academic work, he is self-employed as a personal trainer and motological health consultant in management. He has worked intensively with body and movement techniques including ideokinesis, Feldenkrais, Concentrative Movement Therapy (CBT) and psychomotor.
