Like all events before, Speeds 2016 was a fun filled and exciting weekend for competitors, staff, volunteers and those who chose to spectate.

Saturday got off to a great start with everyone in high spirits, eager to see if they could beat their personal bests! With lots to see and do, including an RLSS Direct stand and a CPR simulator there was something for everyone.

The commentators were enthusiastic and informative, really getting the crowd behind all the athletes. He even got the crowd involved in a Mexican wave and a YMCA dance! With so many different events there was never a dull moment; from Manikin Carries to Line Tows, Saturday flew by.

It was back to it bright and early on Sunday morning, ready for another great day of events. One of the highlights of the whole weekend was the amount of interest we received from people spectating at the event, which was a great opportunity to tell even more people about what we do.

Over the weekend several national records were broken, including the 100m Open Female Manikin Carry which was broken by Devin Amos (her second national record in as many years) in an amazing time of 57.70 seconds!

As Sunday night drew to a close, spirits were still high from the weekend with athletes and teams all proud of their achievements, and all of the amazing performances from everyone who was at Speeds 2016.
