This is a two-year post that includes  supporting the  delivery of the 2022 and 2023 National Lifesaving Championships

Time Commitment

It is estimated that this post requires a small commitment each month. The length of commitment will differ and is likely to be increased in the immediate run-up to the competition.

RLSS UK's National Lifesaving Championships is being held in Leeds on 5th November 2022. The 2023 competition is TBC but will be held in October/November 2023.

Sport Action Group

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the College of Referees to ensure the officials workforce is organised.
  • Support staff and the Sport Action Group in the organisation and support of scheduled Regional Heats.
  • Support the set up the programme and event
  • Work closely with the staff technical lead to establish a volunteer workforce
  • Liaise with key teams across the event including the equipment, and scoring teams as well as
  • Assist with the management of the event during the National Lifesaving Championships Final

Person Specification

  • Experience in technical lifesaving
  • Experience in running and managing Although experience in running lifesaving events is desirable it is not essential
  • Experience in managing a team, especially volunteers
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicts
  • Good written and verbal communicator with experience in a customer-facing role
  • Excellent team player with a can-do attitude

Cross-organisational working      

  • Work with the College of Referees
  • Contribute to and work closely with the Sport Action Group
  • Work with the competition organiser
