Deputy Competition Organiser - National Lifesaving Championships Duration of post This is a two-year post that includes supporting the delivery of the 2022 and 2023 National Lifesaving Championships Time Commitment It is estimated that this post requires a small commitment each month. The length of commitment will differ and is likely to be increased in the immediate run-up to the competition. RLSS UK's National Lifesaving Championships is being held in Leeds on 5th November 2022. The 2023 competition is TBC but will be held in October/November 2023. Reports to Sport Action Group Roles and Responsibilities Work closely with the College of Referees to ensure the officials workforce is organised. Support staff and the Sport Action Group in the organisation and support of scheduled Regional Heats. Support the set up the programme and event Work closely with the staff technical lead to establish a volunteer workforce Liaise with key teams across the event including the equipment, and scoring teams as well as Assist with the management of the event during the National Lifesaving Championships Final Person Specification Experience in technical lifesaving Experience in running and managing Although experience in running lifesaving events is desirable it is not essential Experience in managing a team, especially volunteers Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicts Good written and verbal communicator with experience in a customer-facing role Excellent team player with a can-do attitude Cross-organisational working Work with the College of Referees Contribute to and work closely with the Sport Action Group Work with the competition organiser Application To apply for the role submit a: CV 300-word supporting statement outlining your suitability for the role, and character reference Applications should be sent to [email protected] by 9 am on Monday 30 May 2022 Closing date 9 am Monday 30 May 2022
