National, home-based role with at least 4 meetings per year, which can be held in person or by electronic means (phone, video conference). Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for any travel required.

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Education Officer is an elected role and voting member of the College of Referees.

Their role is to support the development of existing and future officials, working with the Vice-Convenors to develop appropriate training materials. 

 

RELEVANT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Commitment to RLSS UK and lifesaving sport.
  • In individual membership of RLSS UK.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience developing training programmes and materials. 
  • Time management and organisation skills.
  • Supportive and approachable.

RLSS UK is committed to supporting and developing our volunteers. You will receive an induction and ongoing support from RLSS UK staff/trustees in this role.

 

TIME COMMITMENT

All elected members of the College of Referees shall be elected for a period of 3 years. A person may serve two consecutive terms in any role of the College of Referees, before a 1 year break is required. 

Members are expected to attend a minimum of 4 meetings per year.

Nomination to stand for election for this role are open for two weeks and close at 5pm on Thursday 23 June 2022.

All RLSS UK Officials are eligible to vote in the election of this role. Voting will take place over a two week period, after which the candidate with the highest number of votes will be announced.
