No, currently the Skills for Health Assessment Criteria for First Aid qualifications specify that a First Aid at Work Qualification must be completed within a 10 week period. Due to this we are unable to include previous Ongoing Lifeguard Training and Competency Assessment training hours to count towards a First Aid at Work Qualification course. Due to this lifeguards who are already holding an NPLQ would need to complete a full 3 day First Aid at Work course with a qualified First Aid at Work trainer assessor. The RLSS UK currently sit on the First Aid Awarding Body Forum and we are actively raising the question with regard to the recognition of suitable and sufficient ongoing training and competency assessment towards First Aid course training hours. Please be assured that we will work hard to raise this issue.
