Job Title: Marketing Executive (Commercial)
Hours: 35 hours a week – Monday to Friday (part-time will be considered)

Reports to: Senior Marketing and PR Manager 
Salary: £20,539

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • To demonstrate and uphold the Society’s values and behavioural standards at all times
  • Assist in the planning, execution and optimisation of commercial marketing activity and implementation of marketing plans
  • Assist with the implementation of the PR plan to share positive news stories and maximise trade press coverage
  • Create engaging online content and offline copy, marketing collateral and presentations to inspire new and existing customers whilst adhering to brand guidelines
  • Support commercial partners with marketing materials to promote RLSS UK awards and qualifications
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on marketing communication performanceDeliver innovative and creative comms to commercial customersAssist with continuous website improvement by creating web content specific to the commercial areas of RLSS UK
  • Be a trail blazer in the use of digital platforms and techniques to promote RLSS UK, our brand and to improve customer experience
  • Maintain strong output across social media platforms
  • Work in conjunction with the Marketing Executive (Charity) to deliver a holistic and integrated comms approach to all RLSS UK customers

Person Specification


  • Previous experience in a Marketing role
  • Knowledge of current marketing tools, strategies and best practices
  • Strength and a keen interest in social media engagement and management of social media platforms
  • Knowledge to execute campaigns across digital channels
  • Proven strong written skills with exceptional attention to detail when creating and reviewing content
  • Analytical skills and experience of monitoring and reporting on marketing activity
  • A positive team player with the ability to work under own initiative and develop relations with other teams
  • Well-organised with the ability to adhere to deadlines, prioritise and manage time according to business need and work simultaneously on several projects alongside ad-hoc requests
  • Commercially astute and customer orientated attitude
  • Competent in MS Office and marketing applications (content management systems, online analytics, email builders, social media management systems, AdWords etc.)


  • An understanding of lifeguarding, lifesaving, and water safety sector
  • Experience of working with organisations delivering qualifications and training
  • A professional marketing qualification
