Louise has achieved all the Lifesaving awards on offer up to distinction level, and has held office in the Leeds and District Branch, now the North and West Yorkshire Branch, since 1992 to the present day.

Branch roles have included Hon Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Life saving Coordinator, Competition Secretary, Assistant Area Organiser, and Chairman. Much of her work has been in the field of competition Lifesaving, where she has led the UK Development Squad, served on the National Development Committee and officiated at many events including the Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships in Edmonton, Canada.

Whilst some of Louise’s work is part of her job with Leeds City Council, she spends far more time as a volunteer working tirelessly to further the cause of Lifesaving. Louise believes she was the first UK person to secure a paid position to develop Lifesaving in Leeds, a role she suggested and produced a business plan for. She now runs an approved training centre as her paid role, but continues to promote all her past achievements, as well as volunteering with Scott Hall Lifesaving club.
