At RLSS UK, we strive to enhance communities, so everyone can enjoy being in, on and around water safely. We know how important swimming lessons are to provide individuals with confidence and swimming ability to remain safe when enjoying water.

We are thrilled to launch a new training course and award aimed at swim school owners or those working within a swim school with responsibilities for health and safety. Developed by health and safety and swimming pool experts, the award is designed to help swim school owners to understand their legal duty with regard to health and safety and operating a safe swim school.

Jo Talbot, RLSS UK Director, says:

“With our range of qualifications, including National Pool Management Qualification (NPMQ), we strive to help swimming pools to operate in a safe manner. Following the huge success of our NPMQ and a request for more training aimed at swim schools, it was important to us to meet demand and help swim schools. I am incredibly excited to bring another much-needed award to our industry, which will help in our pursuit of ensuring everyone can enjoy water safely.”

Are you a swim school owner, or do you manage a swim school? Would you like to understand how to ensure the safety of your customers whilst maximising income and controlling costs? If so, this is the course for you.

Training is delivered online, across 18 hours, with opportunities for discussions, workshops and questions, to ensure candidates get the most from the tutor’s vast health and safety knowledge and understanding.

Don’t take our word for it - this is what our learners think about the course:

“I found the Swim School Health and Safety Award to be very informative, and it strengthened my knowledge in several areas. The regulations for pool owners and swim schools were explained, as were the implications of failing to have systems in place.

The course ran at a good pace and an appropriate level. I would thoroughly recommend anyone hiring out a pool for lessons or running a swim school to attend this course.”

Justine, Swimming Teacher (17 years) and Swim School Owner (10 years)
