Resources for 7-11 year olds The Royal Life Saving Society UK believes that every child should have the opportunity to learn how to enjoy water safely. Water Safety Education forms a crucial part of the physical, social, and especially health-related impact on a young person. Whilst a large number of children have access to both non-statutory and statutory swimming provision across the UK and Ireland many still do not and we would argue that even those children would benefit from reinforcing practical swimming and water safety with fun and engaging school-based water safety sessions. We have worked hard with experts and our members to create a range of education materials catered to differing environments. We are here to enhance communities, so everyone can enjoy being in, on, or near water safely – because we believe that every life is worth saving. It is our pleasure to encourage you to use our range of resources. We are delighted to have worked in partnership with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Fire Authority and The Stronger Safer Communities Reserve to develop web-based interactive resources for an age group that will now have a grasp on safety and risk. 7 short water safety videos have been created, in addition, the platform includes interactive Spot The Danger scenes and a game.
