Special resolution

This year we need our members to vote for changes to our Articles of Association (AoA). This is an important document which explains the agreed rules for running RLSS UK.

     6. The RLSS UK Trustee Board recommends that the Articles of Association are amended as follows:

That the title of Article 17 be changed from 'Elected Trustees' to 'General Trustees', and

Article 17.3 be amended based on Charity Commission best practice to read:

'A General Trustee (whether elected or appointed) may serve no more than three successive terms (or a total of nine years).'

6a. To implement the changes in Question 6, we must consider the impact of trustees who are currently in office. We ask    members to vote on one of the options below:

  • The new resolution will start from this AGM, and any years served as a Trustee after the 2013 AGM (as per Charity Commission good practice) will be counted.
  • The new resolution will start from this AGM, and any previous terms in office will not be counted.
