This evening following a UK Government Emergency COBRA meeting, PM Boris Johnson announced that increased measures have been put in place to delay the spread of COVID-19. However, the PM did point out that the scientific evidence suggests that the banning of major events will have little effect on the spread of the disease and as such the government have not advised to cancel major events, no matter of their size.

Following this announcement and following Government Guidance the 2020 RLSS UK Speeds Championships will go ahead as planned. Unless we get a further update from the government between now and the start of the championship we will continue with this message.

In line with government and NHS guidance if you have flu like symptoms please self-isolate as advised and refrain from attending this year’s Speeds Championships.

We wish you safe travels and look forward to seeing competitors, volunteers and spectators on Saturday.
