Become a First Aid Trainer Assessor RLSS UK has been leading the way in lifesaving skills training since 1891. The RLSS UK First Aid Essentials Suite can be delivered across the UK and Ireland by RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessors. RLSS UK's First Aid qualifications can be delivered at an RLSS UK Approved Training Centre (ATC) or through an RLSS UK Approved Training Provider (ATP) by an RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessor (TA) who maintains an annual IQA. If you are an independent trainer that hasn't delivered RLSS UK qualifications before, follow these instructions to become an Approved Training Provider. RLSS UK offer a discounted first-year subscription rate for ATPs that will be delivering First Aid qualifications only. Prerequisites to Become an RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessor (TA) 1) Hold a valid and in-date first aid qualification or one of the following: RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). RLSS UK First Aid at Work (FAW) Qualification. Regulated First Aid at Work qualification from another awarding organisation. 2) Hold a valid Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent qualification. 3) Hold a current RLSS UK 'Licence' to Operate' Membership. Find 'My Details' in the menu and then choose 'Become an RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessor' from the options presented. An application form will open. Complete all the mandatory fields and upload your prerequisite qualification certificates. Then submit your application by clicking 'Save Form'. An email will be sent to the email listed within your RLSS UK Account to notify you of the outcome of your application. If your application has been approved, there is a £50 fee to access the First Aid Essentials Suite Training Resources. Step 3) You are not set-up as a Probationary RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessor (TA) and can receive support from a National Trainer Assessor (TA) or a Mentor in delivering and assessing your initial First Aid course. An NTA or Mentor will need to moderate/observe the delivery of your first course for you to be signed off as a fully qualified RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessor and complete your probationary period. Step 4) After successfully delivering and assessing an RLSS UK First Aid qualification and being signed off by your NTA/Mentor, you will become a fully qualified First Aid Trainer Assessor (TA). You can continue to receive ongoing support from other NTAs and Mentors via RLSS UK's Support Finder as well as from other Trainer Assessors in our dedicated private Facebook group. Route 2) You hold the prerequisites AND have delivered first aid courses in the past 3 years. This route is for First Aid Trainers who have delivered first aid courses for another awarding organisation in the past 3 years and can provide an acceptable training and assessment log. To be suitable for this route you need to have ALL the following additional prerequisites: Delivery of 1 regulated Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, First Aid at Work qualification, Paediatric First Aid qualification or equivalent qualification (including assessment) within the last 6 months. Delivered a minimum of 36 hours of first aid teaching within the last 3 years. Performed assessments on 6 full First Aid at Work courses in the past 3 years.
