Prerequisites

• Aged 18 or older on the first day of the course.
• Hold a current Life Support 3 (or equivalent) qualification.
• Hold Current RLSS UK Individual Membership (candidates do not need to hold this to take the course, but it is a requirement for them to have membership to be able to teach the National Lifesaving Academy programme or related Instructor awards).
• Hold the Lifesaving Academy Tutor award (and have passed their probationary period).
• Has run at least two National Lifesaving Academy assessments in the previous 12 months.
• Has run at least two Lifesaving Academy Instructor or Rookie Instructor courses in the previous 24 months.
• Have completed the most recent Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Training for RLSS UK Members and Associates

To process your application for the Become a Lifesaving Academy Senior Tutor course, RLSS UK Enterprises Ltd ATP must collect and handle personal data in compliance with UK GDPR and the DPA18. We collect personal details (name, society number, address, email, contact number, date of birth, and gender) to manage your application, communicate with you, and secure your place on the course. This processing is necessary for the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR). If you pay by invoice, we also collect your company’s name, address, contact number, and email address to fulfil our contractual obligation. We request information on any specialist learning requirements to support your needs during the course. Health-related data (learning needs, medical conditions, or disabilities) is processed with your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR) to ensure your safety and provide appropriate adjustments. Sharing your medical history is optional but may limit our support if withheld. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. We only collect necessary personal data for this processing and use it solely for the agreed purpose. Data is stored for the duration of the course plus an additional 6 years. Evidence of your award is held on your RLSS UK Account.
