The applicant’s information is entered onto Disclosure Scotland’s system exactly as it is provided on this form. This will then generate a reference (Tnumber) which will be included in the applicant’s link that is emailed to the applicant directly. Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services will email the safeguarding team at RLSS UK to confirm when an application request has been processed and the link has been emailed to the applicant.

To complete this form, we need to collect and process personal data in line with UK GDPR and the DPA18. We collect the applicant’s personal details—such as name, contact information, and address—for administrative purposes. Additional information, including their lifesaving club, role, regulated role group, and volunteer status, is required to support the application. This data is processed under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR, as it is in our legitimate interest to manage safeguarding information to help protect vulnerable individuals. The applicant’s details will be shared with Disclosure Scotland and entered into their system exactly as provided. This generates a reference number (T number), which is included in a personalised link sent directly to the applicant. Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services will notify the RLSS UK safeguarding team once the application has been processed and the link issued.
