Student Volunteering Week is the perfect time for any student to start volunteering with RLSS UK. Whatever your skills or experience, RLSS UK has a volunteering opportunity for you! Roles range from a one-off volunteering experience to a longer-term weekly position fitting perfectly around any student’s schedule. Including roles such as event water safety, local awareness events, volunteering with your local lifesaving club and fundraising volunteering.

Volunteering in any capacity can help to add to your personal statement and CV as well as assist with any future student applications including the UCAS system. RLSS UK volunteering will help you build your confidence, meet new people and inspire others to get involved. RLSS UK is in partnership with the Duke of Edinburgh so volunteering with us will count towards your DofE qualification. Whether you have prior experience or you are a first-time volunteer, RLSS UK is your perfect opportunity!

Local volunteering:

Volunteering with the RLSS UK has given me so many fantastic opportunities to make a real difference in my local community. Teaching children and young adults lifesaving skills is vital considering our close proximity to the River Thames. I know the techniques we teach enable our members to stay safe in and around the water for life.

YLT Volunteering:

My experience volunteering with the RLSS UK on the Youth Leadership Team has enabled me to influence how we engage our young lifesavers and lifeguards with the aims of our charity and deliver drowning prevention education nationally. There are very few opportunities where young people are empowered to influence change for a national charity. This team cultivates our collective creativity and ambition to help everybody enjoy water safely.
