Hannah Wiggins-Bettles presented a talk about NLA: IMPROVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OPERATORS on Saturday 24 June at the RLSS UK Conference 2023.

Hannah Wiggins-Bettles

Hannah began her lifesaving journey as a Rookie Lifeguard with Bingley Lifesaving Club at the tender age of 9. Following in her Dad's footsteps, she became a volunteer instructor for the club, where she remained until a pilgrimage to the sunny South in 2012. Here, Hannah and her (now) husband John joined Bishops Waltham Community Swimming, their home club for the last 11 years, where they have taught Survive and Save skills to 100s of local children.

From Hannah's humble beginnings as an assistant at Bingley Lifesaving, her passion for swimming pools led her to a career in the leisure industry. She has since worked with a variety of leisure operators in various management roles, always striving to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to learn to swim and develop their own passion for aquatics!

Hannah tested the waters with HM Coastguard during the pandemic, but couldn't wait to return to swimming pools and smell that chlorine!

Currently the Regional Swim School Manager with Fusion Lifestyle, Hannah is a passionate advocate of RLSS UK, and often spends time training the next cohort of instructors as a Lifesaving Mentor. Though she may travel far and wide, she assures us "Friday night is still lifesaving night in our household"!
