This week, RLSS UK were pleased to announce the hotly-anticipated date and venue for their 2024 National Speed Lifesaving Championships (Speeds).

Speeds is the largest competition of its kind in the UK and the events team at RLSS UK are delighted to have secured Sandwell Aquatic Centre for the 2024 competition, giving athletes the amazing opportunity to swim in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Pool!

The Sandwell Aquatics Centre was the only brand-new venue to be built especially for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. It houses a competition-size pool and hosted more medal events in the Games than any other venue. The centre reopened as a community facility in the summer of 2023 and RLSS UK can’t wait to host Speeds from this exciting venue on 23 – 24 March 2024.

Speeds sees lifesaving athletes aged 12 and over from across the UK and Ireland come together to compete for national titles in what is the only sport to have a humanitarian foundation. If you’d like to join us at the event next Spring, please save the date and stay tuned as more information will be released soon!
