The UK’s drowning prevention charity and leading provider of water safety and drowning prevention education, the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), is proud to announce that they are working in partnership with Fin2Fit Mono-Fin Mermaid Swimming Programme as an official Water Safety Partner.

Fin2Fit is a new and exciting swimming course developed and launched in the UK that builds children’s strength and confidence in the water whilst having fun.

Fin2Fit has been working with RLSS UK throughout its programme development to make sure that safety is at the heart of their mono-fin swimming lessons. Fin2Fit has also added vital water safety and lifesaving skills into their swimming programme to make sure that every child taking part also learns the fundamental skills of how to stay safe in and around the water.

Fin2Fit Directors, Emma Longden and Amie Holford said: “It’s reported that too many children are leaving primary school unable to swim or have confidence in water. Swimming is a vital life skill and we believe every child should have the ability to swim and confidence in water.

“Fin2Fit is a key skills award programme, accredited by the ASA, that gives children levels to achieve and aspire to, and by working with RLSS UK ensures that every lesson has lifesaving skill elements giving children vital water safety skills and knowledge.”

RLSS UK Deputy Director of Education, Mike Dunn said: “Around 400 people needlessly die from drowning in the UK every year and thousands more suffer injury, some life-changing, through near-drowning experiences. Putting these figures into context one person dies every 20 hours in the UK and drowning is a leading cause of accidental death of children in the UK.

“We are proud to announce a partnership with Fin2Fit, a partnership that will ensure that more children receive water safety education whilst learning to swim and gaining confidence in water in an incredibly fun way.”

“By working in partnership with RLSS UK we aim to help reduce the number of drownings whilst increasing the number of children swimming with strength and confidence. We are committed to reducing the number of preventable deaths and a proportion of all Fin2Fits profits will be donated to RLSS UK, the UK’ drowning prevention charity,” Emma and Amie added.
