Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) are delighted to welcome aboard Trent ‘Maxi’ Maxwell, star of the hit Australian TV show Bondi Rescue, as their new Ambassador.

Maxi marked the end of his week-long UK visit, with a trip to RLSS UK HQ in Worcester, to take a tour of the new premises, meet some of the staff and get to know the work of the charity better, as he prepares to launch himself into his new role:

“Anyone who knows me knows I’m really passionate about getting youngsters into swimming and lifesaving but staying safe while they do. It makes complete sense to me, to partner RLSS UK with their water safety work and I’ll be championing their #BeARookieLifeguard and #BeALifeguard campaigns, at home and on my travels.”

“I’m really stoked about my role as RLSS UK Ambassador!  I have loved being back in the UK and having the time to visit other clubs and centres across the UK”

Lee Heard, RLSS UK’s Head of Volunteering, was keen to get Maxi involved as soon as possible:

“Having Maxi as our Ambassador is a real coup for us and an exciting time. He is young and cool with a global reach on social media. He not only lifeguards on Bondi Beach, one of the most iconic beaches in the world, but more importantly, takes his role as a lifesaver very seriously. He understands the value of the skills he has developed and is keen to work with us, to highlight the importance of our water safety and drowning prevention work.”

RLSS UK Chief Executive Office, Di Steer added: “It’s a pleasure to be working with such a high-profile individual and I’m confident his story and experiences, will inspire a new generation of lifeguards and lifesavers, to have fun and stay safe in the water.”
