If you’re already looking forward to warmer days and seeing the sunshine, you’re not alone. The RNLI is in search of new recruits to spend the summer working on some of the UK’s most popular beaches, with applications now open for 2021 beach lifeguards.

RNLI lifeguards patrol over 240 beaches around the UK and Channel Islands; they play an essential role in supporting the RNLI by reducing the number of people who drown at the coast, as well as helping to keep people safe by providing essential local safety advice, to the thousands of holidaymakers who visit the coast every summer.

At the forefront of the RNLI’s lifesaving work, they responded to almost 20,000 incidents and helped more than 30,000 people in 2018 alone.

Through RLSS UK’s National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ), successful applicants will receive world-class training in search and rescue, lifesaving and casualty care techniques, good rates of pay, and the chance to develop valuable skills for a future career.
