The Baywatch Bake Off was born when the Avon & North Wiltshire branch got their clubs together for the lifesaving themed baking competition.

Lifesavers from Keynsham Lifesaving Club, Bath Uni Lifesaving Club and Bristol Uni Lifesaving Club took part, with nine lifesavers in total taking on the baking challenge.

Two of the bakers were awarded for their culinary skills and creativity, Cathy Baldwin from Bristol Uni Lifesaving Club won the prize for best presentation of her first aid kit and the prize for best tasting cake was awarded to Rebecca Mason from Keynsham Lifesaving Club, for her lifeguard flag themed battenberg.

After the competition the lifesaving theme continued with the clubs enjoying a slice of cake whilst watching classic episodes of Baywatch and Bondi Rescue.

After the success of the competition plans are already in place for the next Avon & North Wiltshire Branch lifesaving event which will be open-water training at Henleaze Swimming Lake in June.

We’re hoping the Baywatch Bake Off will start a trend with many more lifesaving cakes to come. Why not get baking?
