At this current time we are encouraging the UK and Irish public to follow their governments advice. If advised that open water swimming is possible we are urging everybody whether a competent open water swimmer or not to proceed with caution. ' Our water ways are beautiful, this toolkit will help you to appreciate and enjoy their rugged nature but let's protect our emergency services and not take unnecessary risks.

Every year across the UK and Ireland, around 700 people lose their lives in a water-related incident. Most of the incidents are completely avoidable. Did you know that 43% of people would jump into the water to save somebody? A completely natural instinct, but an instinct that without the correct knowledge and training is often risky and life-threatening.
