We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating the success and achievements of the athletes involved in this year’s Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving. The closing ceremony will take place in the stadium of John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds, where the overall medals from the Festival of Lifesaving will be presented. Celebrate achievements, make international friends and party the night away at the closing ceremony dinner! Enjoy a sumptuous two-course dinner, after dinner disco and watch the handing over to the hosts of 2021. Venue Aquatics Centre at John Charles Centre for Sport, Middleton Grove Leeds LS11 5DJ The Aquatics Centre at John Charles Centre for Sport is a relatively new facility which opened in 2007. The whole site is in good condition with an extensive range of amenities. Facilities: An indoor 50m Pool, with 10 lanes and moveable floor (allowing a 2m uniform depth) is next to 17m x 15.5m pool (suitable for warm up and cool down). Competition Pool Length: 50m Pool Lanes: 10 Lanes - 2.5m wide Depth: 2m Starting Blocks: Between 0.5m and 0.75m above water surface, surface area in excess of 0.5m2 and covered in a rough nonslip material. Slope is not less than 10 degrees. Each block has a large lane number visible on each side. Lane Ropes: Anti-splash competition lane markers Temperature: Generally, 27oc Pool Equipment Pooled equipment will be available on Tuesday and Wednesday for Training at John Charles Centre for Sport.
