Support will be provided by the Royal Life Saving Society UK to help facilitate this essential programme Links/signposting to organisations to support delivery of the field trip Instructional videos Water Safety lesson framework – linked to the curriculum across the UK and Ireland Water Safety resources and worksheets Volunteer-led class based sessions / initial assembly Materials to support the accreditation process Your amazing accreditation mark to celebrate your success Support to build a case study and really celebrate your great achievement and commitment to you pupils and the community How you’ll need to monitor and evaluation the programme School to conduct pre- and post- surveys of levels of water safety knowledge and understanding, using questionnaire /quiz provided. Overall outcomes to be provided to the RLSS UK for evaluative purposes School to evidence the process of accreditation using a reporting checklist and an evidence exemplar RLSS UK to provide external auditing leading to accreditation and dependent on level of commitment Receiving your accreditation Upon successful completion of all monitoring and evaluation steps, combined with requirements for the chosen award level, schools will receive an official accreditation logo for use on a web page, Learning Platform, social media, letters etc. Accreditation reviewed every 2 years Cost and duration Water Smart Schools is completely free, all we ask is that you consider providing a donation or running some fundraising activity through the year. This will help the charity continue to provide our lifesaving work and educate more people to enjoy water safely. The programme isn’t onerous and can be done at your pace. Every two years we will ask you to renew your commitment I just wanted to say, that all our teachers felt this was a really fabulous programme with really good resources and engaging lessons.
