Everyone Active is offering free Royal Life Saving Society UK Save A Life courses at its Warwickshire sites to help equip residents with lifesaving skills.

Everyone Active centres in Stratford Upon Avon, Shipston, Studley and Southam have already ran the RLSS UK Save A Baby’s Life course to both members and non-members earlier this year, with participants agreeing that they’d learnt a lot and felt more confident in caring for a child.

RLSS UK’s Save A Life series comprises of four, two hour workshops that can be taken individually and are tailored for infant, child and adult care. Each workshop covers basic life support (CPR), as well as diagnosis and treatment of both choking and drowning. There is an additional element that trains participants to use an AED (automatic external defibrillator).

Funding support was thanks to Southam Lions and the Stratford Town Trust, course materials were provided by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS UK) and venue, trainers and administration all handled by Everyone Active.

Everyone Active’s Health and Safety Trainer, Martin Walters said: “We’re delighted so many people opted to take up our first course and hope they’ll come back for more and bring their friends!

“At Everyone Active we’re passionate about our centres being the hub of the community, bringing people together through fitness, education and fun! Not only are these courses providing valuable lifesaving skills, they’re completely free and open to anyone to get involved.”

Everyone Active has also raised £100 for RLSS UK, in support of its vital drowning prevention work.

Martin Symcox, Director of IQL UK and Water Safety Management, welcomed Everyone Active’s commitment.

He said: “Our passion for lifesaving skills and water safety means we recognise that our courses have to be as accessible as possible. We are thrilled that Everyone Active centres are running the Save A Life Series and will be well attended, equipping people with valuable lifesaving skills.”
