The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) would like to pay tribute to Water Babies Group CEO and Managing Director Steve Franks, who has sadly died after battling coronavirus.

Steve began his work with Water Babies in 2009, and as a campaigner in the sector, worked to develop respected baby and pre-school aquatic teaching. He was instrumental in developing Water Babies into a globally recognised brand and a world-leader and authority in baby swimming.

Water Babies became an official RLSS UK strategic partner earlier in the year, with Steve instrumental to all discussions and arrangements.

RLSS UK’s Director of Commercial Operations, Jo Talbot said: “I was saddened to hear of the passing of Steve Franks. It was a pleasure to work collaboratively with Steve. His passion and enthusiasm for both Water Babies and the sector were inspiring, and he shared RLSS UK’s core ambition – for people to enjoy water, safely, to prevent drowning.

“His work, developing highly developed swimming programmes for babies and pre-school children leaves a legacy, one which RLSS UK will continue to champion.

“Everyone at RLSS UK sends their deepest sympathy and condolences to Steve’s family, friends and all at Water Babies,” said Robert Gofton, CEO
