We’re really excited to have a partnership with Anaphylaxis Campaign! The Anaphylaxis Campaign is the only UK wide charity solely focused on supporting people at risk of severe allergic reactions. They empower people living with severe allergies to be more confidently in control of their lives and provide information and support to patients and their families and carers. They campaign and fundraise to achieve their ultimate aim, to create a safer environment for all people at risk of severe allergies, by working with and educating the food industry, schools, healthcare professionals and other key audiences. About the Course | Pre-Requisites | Recommended For | Course Content | Assessment | Renewal | Qualification Specification About the Course The regulated IQL Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis has been created with support from Anaphylaxis Campaign. IQL offer both a standalone course and the opportunity to add Anaphylaxis Management to several of our qualification courses. The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for two years. The Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis course is four hours and is designed to be delivered in one day. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR, AED and use of an adrenaline auto-injector. Pre-Requisites Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment. No prior knowledge is required. Recommended For Everyone Click here to find an Anaphylaxis Management course Course Content A range of subjects are covered including: Assessing an incident Providing first aid to an unresponsive casualty CPR including AED Pocket mask Recovery position Recognising a casualty with anaphylaxis Using an adrenaline auto-injector Assessment Basic Life Support and the Management of Anaphylaxis is Trainer Assessed throughout the course and the assessment should determine a candidate’s ability to act safely, promptly and effectively to deal with a casualty suffering from anaphylaxis. Renewal In order to re-qualify candidates must complete the training and assessment again.
