In January 2022, we launched a new ATC/ATP Guidance Manual for Approved Training Centres and Providers (ATC/ATPs). The manual details the requirements of an ATC/P under the ATC/P scheme, it reflects recent changes within other guidance documents and is in line with guidelines from other regulatory bodies.

From January 2023, all RLSS UK ATC/ATPs must comply with this guidance. We are therefore encouraging you to read it and be prepared.

Where can you find the Guidance manual?

The ATC/ATP Guidance Manual is available in your RLSS UK Account - follow the instructions here or click here to download it. (Please ensure you are always using the latest version).

What are the main changes?

The main changes are:

  • A revised Internal Quality Process; a new streamlined Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) form.
  • Changes to the minimum standard for people conducting Internal Quality Assurance checks.
  • Risk rating Trainers and Assessors
  • Conducting IQA checks of each trainer and assessor you use on an annual basis.

To support you with these changes, we have launched an online familiarisation session*. The session is still available to complete within your RLSS UK Account under the ‘Awards and Training’ tab.

We have also launched an ATC/P Coordinator Training and Competency Module - available to all current coordinators within the ‘Awards and Training’ tab in your RLSS UK Account.

We recommend that you complete the online familiarisation session and the ATC/P Co-ordinator Training and Competency Module to ensure that you are fully aware of all the changes within the revised manual.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

*The online familiarisation session is not designed to replace the prerequisites for someone completing an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) check of First Aid qualifications.
