Apprenticeships Opportunities 2023

We recruited our first apprentices in 2015 and since then have employed 53 people in a diverse range of roles. The majority of our apprentices are still with us, including some who have started their progression into management roles or are delivering PT programmes for customers. Developing our people is at the core of our business and are very proud of the quality of our apprenticeship scheme and the opportunities that it provides.

We work closely with our training providers to deliver high-quality apprenticeships that cover personal development and soft skills as well as the core educational elements of the apprenticeship.

We’re a fast growing, ambitious independent charitable trust– operating 18 leisure centres with 7 cafes and 9 swimming pools across Cheshire East!  A not for profit organisation, we’ve a passion for improving health and wellbeing and our surpluses are reinvested to help the people of Cheshire East live well and for longer.

Pay & Benefits

• 18-month (approx.) apprenticeship programme
• 37 hours per week including early mornings, evenings and weekends (operational roles)
• Performance based pay increases every 6 months starting at £12,540 (current rates) per year with 6 monthly performance-based increases
• 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after 5-years service)
• Staff membership of leisure facilities at very reduced rates

Level 2 Leisure Team Member

We are looking for apprentices to join our team working in one of our 9 swimming pool facilities undertaking a range of activities and achieving qualifications in lifeguarding, swimming teaching and gym instruction.

This apprenticeship will give you experience in the leisure industry and is an ideal entry level position for someone wanting a career within leisure.

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate good people skills and be happy to work in a variety of situations and teams. There will be shift work to include early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Candidates will need to have a relatively good swimming ability and will undertake a swimming test as part of the application process.

Level 2 Community Sports Coach

Working within our sports development team, you will be involved in the planning, organisation and delivery of a wide range of activities for children, families and adults of all ages.

The role will involve a mixture of office work & delivery within the sports & leisure environment with a focus on customer’s needs and Health & Safety at all times.

This highly rewarding role will involve travel throughout Cheshire East together with evening and weekend work.
