Location: The role can be based anywhere in Scotland, Northumberland, Tyneside, Wearside, Cleveland or Durham. Home based with occasional travel to events, for which expenses will be paid.

A vital part of an exciting pilot to shape the future of volunteering at RLSS UK, the Marketing Lead volunteer will help us to build our community in line with our 2020-2025 strategic framework. This role will take a lead in supporting local clubs and groups with marketing, building engagement and following on a range of social media platforms, and establishing relationships with local media to raise the profile of RLSS UK activity.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

This role will support local clubs and groups with marketing to raise the profile of RLSS UK activity. 

Key tasks include: 

• Promoting and celebrating network and hub activity, through relevant channels including social media
• Relaying and supporting national RLSS UK campaigns and information
• Supporting clubs and individuals to raise their profile and promote their activity, including by hosting training to develop local capabilities

 

Time Commitment

This role is part of a Coordinating Group of volunteers, with direct staff support. The role is flexible so you can fit it into your week, but we do ask for a regular commitment for a six-month period. This will include interactions by phone/email with other volunteers, as well as attendance at events in your area and a monthly meeting with the group. Expenses will be paid in line with our Volunteer Expenses Policy.

Essential:

• Commitment to promoting RLSS UK and our mission
• Competent using social media platforms
• Effective communication skills to build and maintain relationships
• Able to work collaboratively in a team

Desirable:

• Experience creating informative marketing messaging
• Experience of sourcing media opportunities
