Rules have now been published.

Significant Changes

  1. General Procedures – Registrations and Medal sub-sections have been rearranged within this Section, without any changes to the content.
  2. Section 1.7 Protests and Appeals – This Section has been heavily updated to include further details of the protest and appeals process and guidelines for the Appeals Committee on how to conduct an appeal. This is in line with ILS procedures.
  3. Section 2.1 General Conditions for Pool Competition – Updates to the wording of disqualification codes; further details on the use of body tape has been included. A new sub-section has been created to collect other general conditions of the Championships.
  4. Section 2.2 Competition Attire – A new section has been created to collate all the information about swimwear, eyewear and footwear permitted to be worn during the competition. This section also includes details on “modesty” swimwear and of non-body shaping textile swimwear for religious and/or cultural reasons.
  5. Section 2.3 Starts – This section has been updated to further clarify the starting procedures.
  6. Section 2.4 Manikins – This section has been updated in line with ILS Rules regarding carrying and towing manikins.
  7. Section 2.7 Judges – This section has been expanded to clarify the role of judges during the Championships.
  8. Section 3.1 Obstacle Swim – DQ17 has been added.
  9. Section 3.3 Rescue Medley – DQ20 has been removed.
  10. Section 3.4 Manikin Carry with Fins – DQ20 has been removed.
  11. Section 3.5 Manikin Tow with Fins – The detailed event description has been updated in line with ILS Rules, including the change to a 10 m pick-up zone (previously 5 m). DQ20 and DQ26 and DQ32 wording has been updated.
  12. Section 3.6 Super Lifesaver – The detailed event description has been updated in line with ILS Rules, including the change to a 10 m pick-up zone during the manikin tow (previously 5 m). DQ20 and DQ32 have been updated.
  13. Section 3.7 Line Throw – The detailed event description has been updated in line with ILS Rules, including how the catcher interacts with the crossbar. DQ51 has been updated.
  14. Section 3.8 Manikin Relay – The detailed event description has been updated in line with ILS Rules, including the change of the size of the middle changeover zone (it has increased from 4 m to 5 m). DQ20 has been removed. DQ50 has been updated. DQ61 has been added.
  15. Section 3.9 Obstacle Relay – DQ14 has been removed. DQ17 has been added. DQ12 has been updated.
  16. Section 3.10 Medley Relay – The detailed event description has been updated in line with ILS Rules, including the change in changeover zone from 5 m to 10 m, and that Competitor Number 3 can now hold the rescue tube and/or clip during the last leg of the event. DQ40, DQ46, DQ47 and DQ48 have been updated.
  17. Section 3.11 Line Throw Relay – The detailed event description has been updated with similar amendments to the Line Throw rules. DQ51 and DQ52 have been updated.
  18. Section 3.12 Pool Lifesaver Relay – The detailed event description has been updated in line with ILS Rules, including when the third competitor can touch and grasp the manikin. Teams are now permitted to choose their own order to swim in. DQ18, DQ59 and DQ60 have been updated. DQ20 and DQ61 have been removed. DQ23 has been added.
  19. Appendix Disqualification Codes – The disqualification codes have been updated in line with other changes to these Rules.
