A Royal Life Saving Society UK Trustee has successfully secured a £20,000 donation from the Lloyd’s of London Foundation in recognition of his previous work as Youth Advisor for the charity.

James Cossons

James Cossons, Reinsurance Broker at Aon, was able to submit an application to the Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards, which recognises the volunteering and fundraising efforts of colleagues in the Lloyd’s market and helps the charities they support.

James said: “Having been successful in securing the grant previously when I saw it advertised on our internal intranet, I thought it was worth a go!

“I was delighted to find out that RLSS UK would receive £20,000 from the Lloyd’s of London Foundation, it will make such a huge difference to our organisation and act as a bursary for young people to be able to complete our awards.

“Sometimes, fundraising opportunities big or small appear and it’s so important to me that I support organisations that mean a lot to me.”

RLSS UK Charity Director, Lee Heard added: “A huge thanks goes to one of our RLSS UK Trustees, James Cossons for securing this fantastic donation. Thanks, of course, also goes to the Lloyd’s of London Foundation for such a generous award, it will really make a difference in our goal to educate everyone to enjoy water safely.”

Lloyd’s of London Foundation said: “We are incredibly proud of our people in the Lloyd’s market who have shown huge dedication to charitable causes they believe in, and we are thrilled to be able to support the brilliant work their chosen charity is doing for communities. Every year we are moved to see the variety of charities nominated, all doing invaluable work to support people who need it most.”
