We are thrilled to announce that following the success, of Phase 1 qualification funding through the CIMSPA ReTrain scheme - a £1.5m training initiative designed to retool the sport and physical activity workforce, funded by The National Lottery through Sport England - we have now launched Phase 2.

Phase 2 allows all RLSS UK Approved Training Centres and Providers (ATC/Ps) in England to apply for funding for RLSS UK and IQL UK qualification candidate packs.

We understand the challenges our industry faces, and this funding is designed to help, by providing ATC/Ps in England with free qualification candidate packs to help reduce the cost of essential training required during COVID-19.

All ATC/P Coordinators in England will have received an email from RLSS UK with details of how to apply for the funding, please use the personalised link in the email. Applications must be completed, by the ATC/P Coordinator OR, the Applicant must have gained permission from the ATC/P Coordinator to complete the application on their behalf.

Applications are managed on a first-come-first-served basis until funding is used-up. Qualification candidate packs awarded, must be used, and submitted to RLSS UK by Tuesday 31, August 2021 (payment, will be required for any qualifications not used).

The funded qualifications are listed below and include renewals:

• Level 2 National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
• National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC)
• National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches LIGHT (NRASTC LIGHT)
• Emergency Response Pool (ER-Pool)
• Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW)
• Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
• Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
• Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis
• RLSS UK TA Core
• RLSS UK TA Specialism- NPLQ, NRASTC, ER-Pool or First Aid

Information for Pool Plant Operators 

If you need Pool Plant Operators, you can also take advantage of £1.5 million allocated in Phase 2 of the ReTrain training initiative funded by The National Lottery through Sport England.

All training provided through ReTrain must be delivered by CIMSPA Training Provider Partners.

Our partners, Institute of Swimming, who deliver courses for Pool Operators including the Pool Plant Operator Certificate, are an approved supplier of the scheme. Their courses cover everything you need for the safe maintenance of swimming pools, spas, and other water features.
