Preparations are underway for the 2021 Honours. We look forward to welcoming both 2020 and 2021 Honours recipients to Worcester Cathedral on Saturday 6 November 2021. Our National Honours Ceremony is a highlight of our calendar year as we celebrate all of the incredible work carried out by volunteers supporting RLSS UK. More information about nominating individuals for a 2021 Honours will be added here shortly.
Congratulations to everybody who received an Honour last year!
The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) is indebted to the outstanding contribution of all our members and volunteers who work tirelessly to educate and train the UK and Irish public to enjoy water safely. The National Presentation of Honours is designed to say thank you to all that contribute to a reduction in drowning across the UK and Ireland and allows individuals and groups to celebrate their achievements. We are delighted to invite, for the first time, our 1891 Life Fellow Members to the National Presentation of Honours with VIP seats as a thank you for supporting RLSS UK by leaving a gift in their Will – helping future generations to enjoy water safely.
There are two series of Honours – Service and Merit. Each series is independent of the other and each has different criteria of eligibility. Individuals may, and often will, hold both Service and Merit Honours and could receive one of each in a single year. It should be emphasised that both Service and Merit Honours have equal value and are awarded in recognition of valuable work completed to support the aims of the Society.
