Water Safety Insight and Research A Headline Exploration: Air temperatures and accidental drowning As a leading water safety charity, the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) was interested in understanding more about the possible relationship between air temperature and accidental drowning fatalities. In this report, we provide evidence of a relationship between the two factors and show, that when average maximum air temperatures are at their highest, it is teenagers and young adults who are proportionately more likely to lose their lives to accidental drowning.
