By becoming an AED Trainer Assessor, you will be responsible for the delivery of RLSS UK AED qualifications throughout the UK and overseas. This one-day course, facilitated by one of our National Trainer Assessors, will equip candidates with everything needed to run RLSS UK AED throughout the UK and overseas.

What does it involve?

RLSS UK are currently offering existing RLSS UK Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessors, RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessors, RLSS UK National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Trainer Assessors a simple and cost-effective pathway to upscale in order to deliver RLSS UK AED qualifications.

Attendance at a one day course, facilitated by one of our National Trainer Assessors will equip you with everything that you need to run RLSS UK AED courses. Course prices vary depending on location. Qualifying as a RLSS UK AED Trainer Assessor allows you to deliver the 4 hour standalone AED course as well as the bolt on AED module for the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work courses.


Pre Requisites

Those wishing to become a RLSS UK First Aid Trainer Assessor must:

  • Be one of the following: a current RLSS UK Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor, First Aid Trainer Assessor, National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Trainer Assessor.
  • Hold one of the following: a current RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, RLSS UK National Beach Lifeguard Qualification, First Aid at Work Certificate or Life Support 3.
  • Hold current RLSS UK Membership

Delivery of RLSS UK First Aid Qualifications

All RLSS UK AED qualifications must be delivered at an RLSS UK Approved Training Centre (ATC) or via an RLSS UK Approved Training Provider (ATP).  If you currently work at an ATC or ATP you can start to deliver RLSS UK First Aid qualifications immediately by liaising with your ATC or ATP Co-ordinator.

If you are an independent trainer wishing to deliver RLSS UK AED qualifications, you can apply to become an ATP. The ATP scheme allows you to deliver qualifications at any location. For more information on becoming an ATP click here.

ATC/P’s receive access to RLSS UK’s Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) which will enable them to deliver, assess and certificate RLSS UK awards and qualifications, they can also access the Ongoing Training and Competency Assessment (OTCA) platform to manage ongoing training for their lifeguards. ATC/P’s can book a support call with the Principle Standards Manager for assistance with the course management system. The compliance team will conduct an external quality assurance audit with ATP/C’s every 12-18 months to ensure compliance with RLSS UK Qualifications and Ofqual requirements. If you wish to become an ATC or ATP, please click here.
