As part of our commitment to ensuring our qualifications are delivered to the highest of standards, we regularly seek feedback from candidates who have recently obtained one of our awards. The feedback is vital to help us improve our qualifications and address any concerns that may have been raised.

During recent surveys we have had a few candidates highlight that some training facilities could have been better. But what makes a good training/assessment facility?

We have put together a guide on what you should look for when choosing where you deliver your courses/assessments:

1. Comfortable Seating: Chairs and tables that are comfortable for extended periods of sitting.

2. Proper Lighting: Well-lit space with adjustable lighting to accommodate different learning activities.

3. Audio-Visual Equipment: High-quality audio and visual equipment, including projectors, screens, and sound systems, for presentations and multimedia content.

4. Internet Connectivity: Reliable and fast internet access for online resources and activities.

5. Temperature Control: Climate control to ensure a comfortable room temperature.

6. Sound Considerations: Adequate soundproofing and acoustic design to minimise distractions and ensure clear communication.

7. Whiteboards/Flipcharts: Tools for visual aids and interactive learning, such as whiteboards or flipcharts.

8. Flexible Layout: Modular furniture and a layout that can be adjusted to accommodate different training formats, from presentations to group discussions.

9. Accessibility: Accessibility features for participants with disabilities.

10. Safety: Compliance with safety regulations and emergency procedures, including fire exits and first-aid supplies.

11. Feedback Systems for collecting feedback from candidates to improve the training room experience.

There are other areas that an ATC/P may consider also.

We know that training/assessment rooms are sometimes dictated by the venue the course is being delivered at or the availability of certain rooms within your centres. Whatever the scenario ATC/Ps should ensure the training/assessment room is appropriate for the course or assessment that is being delivered.
