Following the announcement from Qualifications Wales in 2023 with regards to Condition D9 – Welsh-medium Qualifications, RLSS UK Qualifications engaged with its Approved Training Centres and Providers (ATC/Ps) to establish if there was sufficient demand to publish our qualifications in Welsh.

Firstly, we would like to thank all those that took the time to respond to the survey sent out.

Upon reviewing the responses RLSS UK Qualifications can see there are a number of barriers that would affect both the Awarding Organisation and our ATC/Ps to be able to deliver our qualifications in Welsh.

It was also clear from the survey that there wouldn’t be a sufficient demand from our Welsh ATC/Ps should we produce our qualifications through the medium of Welsh.

Based on the findings of the survey and to not increase any burden on our ATC/Ps, RLSS UK Qualifications does not currently offer any of its regulated qualifications in the medium of Welsh. All qualifications must be delivered and assessed in English only.

All our policies and procedures are reviewed regularly along with feedback from those delivering and awarding our qualifications. This means that it may be something considered for the future should there be sufficient demand.
