Splash Safely in Bath Seats Have you ever used a baby bath seat? If you have, you’re not alone. Based on RLSS UK's latest Child Drowning Update from September 2024, 88% of parents told us they’ve used a baby bath seat, even if they no longer do so. Amongst parents of infants (children aged under one), almost two-thirds (64%) currently use one. 72% of parents using a bath seat believe it’s designed to keep a baby safe. This is not the case. Whilst bath seats can provide support for your baby during bath time, bath seats are not a safety device. Of ten infants that drowned in the bath between 2020 and 2024, seven were using a bath seat. Always keep your baby within arm’s reach in the bath, even when using a bath seat.
