Ruth Lee Ltd. have been manufacturing manikins for over 25 years, and have used the skill and knowledge that they have developed in that time, to create a range of realistic manikins and training aids. Their present customers include: Fire & Rescue Services, the NHS, the Ministry of Defence, airports, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), coastguards, offshore operators, cruise ship companies, and a multitude of international search and rescue organisations who use the manikins to ensure that the individuals that are training for rescues, get the most authentic experience possible.

RLSS UK has endorsed the Ruth Lee swimming pool manikin for use within qualification assessments. RLSS UK Trainer Assessors conducting assessments for the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC), and Emergency Response Pool (ER Pool), can now use the Ruth Lee Rescue manikin as a submersible manikin for candidates to demonstrate deep water recovery. Qualification guidance and syllabus will be updated in the forthcoming months.

"We have been making water rescue manikins for more than 25 years and we're 100 per cent committed to creating the best training manikins for rescue professionals and volunteers, around the world. We are delighted to be joining RLSS UK as a Water Safety Partner, having worked closely with the team to develop our Pool Rescue manikin. We have a shared vision of reducing the number of deaths due to drowning,” explains Paul McDonnell, Managing Director of Ruth Lee Ltd.

“We strongly believe that making rescue training as realistic as possible, greatly improves the skills of lifeguards, and we hope that our manikin goes a long way to helping trainers to set up a full simulated rescue scenario, which thoroughly tests the skills of their teams.
