What is Internal Quality Assurance?

Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) is a way for an Approved Training Centre or Provider (ATC/P) to carry out checks on both course delivery and assessments.

It is a requirement that all ATC/P’s conduct IQA checks.

The purpose of IQA checks are to ensure:

• Candidates are treated fairly and consistently
• Trainers and Assessors are adhering to the awarding organisation’s guidance and policies
• Course delivery is standardised
• Assessments are marked consistently in line with the relevant syllabus

IQA Requirements

It’s important to note that depending upon the qualification being delivered, different IQA requirements need to be met. Information on this can be found within the Approved Training Centre and Provider Guidance Manual.

IQA Resources

There are a range of resources available for ATC/P’s to support them with their IQA obligations. The resources can be found within the Resource and Document area on an individuals RLSS UK Account providing they have one of the following roles within an ATC/P:

• ATC/P Co-ordinator
• Global Admin
• Admin
• Course Organiser
• Global Course Organiser
• Global Trainer
• Trainer
• Internal Verifier

Or

Hold a RLSS UK IQA qualification or one from another Awarding Organisation (providing this is registered with us). 

If you meet the criteria above, to access the resources follow these steps:

1. Log into your RLSS UK account
2. Click on the resource and document area tab
3. Click into the ATC/ ATP Administration folder followed by Internal Quality Assurance

To access this, when logged into your account hover over awards and training and select online learning. From there filter to compliance and select the IQA familiarisation session.
