    Application Process

To become a RLSS UK Pool National Trainer Assessor, there is a four-stage process.

    Stage 1 - Online Application

The online application form asks you to confirm you meet the prerequisites, email your evidence, and detail your training, assessing, and mentoring experience.

Stage 2 - Technical Knowledge Assessment

Applicants that are successful in stage 1 will be invited to take part in a technical knowledge assessment carried out over the telephone (30-45 mins). Your current knowledge of the content of the syllabus and guidance for your qualifications will be put to the test, as well as your knowledge of mentoring. You will require good underpinning knowledge in order to make a great National Trainer Assessor.

    Stage 3 - NTA Course

Applicants that are successful in stages 1 and 2 will qualify for a place on the NTA course. A two-day interactive workshop-based course that provides you with all of the information you will need to successfully train the next generation of Trainer Assessors. There is an assessment at the end of the course that you will need to pass in order to progress to stage 4.

Stage 4 - Probationary NTA Period

Those that successfully pass the NTA course will be awarded Probationary NTA status. You will then have two years to fully organise and deliver a Trainer Assessor Course. On the final day of the course, you will be moderated by a member of the RLSS UK quality assurance team to ensure quality and consistent delivery and adherence to RLSS UK guidelines. On successful completion of this moderation, full NTA status will be issued.

    Terms and Conditions

Applicants who are successful in progressing to the NTA Course (stage 3) will then need to pay the course fee of £550+VAT.
