The Pool Extraction Board (PXB), created in partnership with the RLSS UK and Ferno UK, is available to order from RLSS UK Shop.

The PXB design leads to faster rescue times, offers improved safety, and has the potential to reduce demands placed on staff whilst ensuring the casualty is extracted from the pool with the correct care and attention.

Trainer Assessor PXB Update

The Pool Extraction Board (PXB) Trainer Assessor (TA) Update is conducted face-to-face and involves theoretical and practical learning. The course includes the following:

  • Deck level pool with shallow water technique
  • Deck level pool with deep water technique
  • Free board pool with shallow water technique
  • Free board pool with deep water technique
  • Key teaching points and techniques to use when delivering the PXB to National Pool Lifeguard candidates

Once a Trainer Assessor has completed the PXB Update with an RLSS UK National Trainer Assessor, their RLSS UK Account will be updated and they will be able to deliver the PXB Update:

  • For renewal and new NPLQ candidates
  • During ongoing training and competency assessment

Further information on the PXB update:

  • Probationary TAs will also be able to participate in the PXB update and will then be able to deliver PXB as part of NPLQ courses and assessments.
  • This is an opportunity for you to get ‘hands-on’ with the board and practice with the equipment. If you are unable to participate in this activity in the water, please contact the team at RLSS UK, and we will ensure that an option is available for you to participate from the poolside.
